Summary:

Shopkeeper Bosko takes care of business.

Description:

Bosko, proprietor of the aptly named “Bosko’s Store”, is whistling and  washing his windows when he gets a phone call. The customer on the phone asks for bologna, so Bosko grabs one, hold it up to the phone, and asks
“How’s that?”. “Okay!” the customer replies, after which Bosko goes over to his meat slicer (an electric fan) and starts cutting. As he’s slicing, a dachshund walks into the store (his rear lagging behind his front) and proceeds to swallow all the slices that Bosko has cut, turning him into an accordion! Bosko spots the dog, who then runs off into the fan and gets sliced like the bologna, only he’s somehow reassembled at the other end. The dog runs out of the store as Bosko laughs heartily. Bosko then begins dusting, dancing all the while, and somehow causes the eggs to chirp and the bologna to bark as passes the duster over them. He dusts the bottom of a woman on a life-size stand-up, causing her to come to life and whack him with a bat. Bosko is then interrupted by a crank call, which happens to come from a tiny mouse who razzes him through the phone. Next, Bosko grabs a broom and starts sweeping the front porch, dancing with the broom in the process. An arm comes out of the broom momentarily to move Bosko’s hand off of it’s backside. Honey and Wilber come strolling along, and Bosko greets them with “Hello Honey!”. Wilber imitates him, adding “Nertz!”. “Let’s make whoopee Bosko! Got a nickel?” says Honey, so Bosko drops a nickel into the hungry slot of a player piano and they begin dancing. Wilber goes off and starts eating the bananas hanging outside the store. When Bosko confronts the kitten, Wilber shoots a banana into Bosko’s face. Bosko stumbles back into the store and falls into a hanging basket, which Wilber sends flying across the store. It hits a wall and Bosko falls out, but then he knocks into a cash register and stumbles into a barrel of molasses, which pours all over him. Bosko tries to get up, but the sticky molasses has him glued to the floor. Wilber somehow manages to fall into the meat grinder, where he’s ground out as several little Wilbers who soon manage to reconstitute themselves. Bosko takes his shoes off and runs after Wilber, who then leaps onto a rolling ladder and starts dropping cans onto Bosko’s head. Then Wilber grabs a line of barbed wire and runs it under Bosko’s crotch. Bosko screams in unthinkable pain and grabs his smoking bottom as the cartoon ends.
