Summary:

Bosko goes on a fox hunt and meets his dog Bruno for the first time.

Description:

A fox hunt is underway, as pack of dogs chases after a Foxy-like fox, with a group of hunters following behind on horseback. Among them is Bosko, whose horse starts to lose its backbone, dragging Bosko along on the ground. Bosko finds a log and stuffs it into the horse, making it straight again. When the horse stops abruptly at a hole in the ground, the log flies out, forming a bridge over the hole. Bosko and his horse (suddenly straight again) ride over with no problem. The fox continues to prance over lakes and through trees as the dogs continue to chase it. One hunter (an elephant) blows his trunk, signaling the dogs to charge. The fox hides in a tree log as all the dogs run past. A dachshund comes sniffing along, turning around the log until it meets its own rear end, which it kicks away and continues on past the hidden fox. The fox laughs after all the hunters have passed by, but it then hears Bosko coming along behind him. The fox jumps over a hedge and moves a pond right into Bosko’s path. Bosko and his horse leap over the hedge and right into the pond, where the mud-covered horse proceeds to remove his “shirt”, wring it out, and walk angrily away.  A dog (Bruno) runs up to Bosko and points the way to the fox with his tail. Bosko pulls out his gun and follows Bruno, who is now chasing right behind the fleeing fox. The fox manages to hide in a tree, and when Bruno sniffs around, a tree kicks him in the face as the fox emerges and runs off. The fox then jumps into one of two consecutive holes. As Bruno peeks down one of them, the fox comes out of the other and bites Bruno in the rear. Bruno runs off dragging his behind on the ground. When Bosko sticks his gun down one of the holes, the fox pulls the gun out of the other hole, causing Bosko to shoot himself in the rear. “I’ll get you!” Bosko yells, as he watches the fox run into a cave. Bosko grabs a tail and begins pulling it out of the cave, but it turns out to be a giant boar. The boar chases Bosko and Bruno into another cave where they all begin to fight. Bruno is kicked out of the fight early, listening to Bosko and the boar fight from outside the cave. When Bruno hears the commotion end he pulls out a club, expecting to bash the boar as it comes out, but instead bashes Bosko as he emerges victorious from the cave. Bruno licks Bosko, and they then shake hands and smile.
