Summary:

Bosko the soda jerk makes music and delivers ice cream.

Description:

Bosko is working as a soda jerk, creating ice cream floats while making music with his tools. He serves one float to a little Mickey-ish mouse, who spins his stool up to reach the straw. A fat lady hippo (who has previously pestered Foxy in “Smile, Darn Ya, Smile!” and “One More Time”) comes in, and Bosko recognizes her . “Well, if it ain’t my old school teacher Miss Pitty!”. She sits down (on three seats) and turns on a fan while Bosko gets her float. Bosko’s mixer breaks, causing the little mouse to laugh at him, so he grabs the mouse and uses him to mix the hippo’s drink. When he serves it to her, the fan blows the ice cream into her face, and she razzes Bosko as she storms out. Bosko laughs and begins making music again, while a dachshund walks in and eats a whole plate of  five-cent sandwiches. Bosko catches the dog and starts playing it like an accordion. Meanwhile, Honey is giving a little cat named Wilber piano lessons. Wilber doesn’t want to learn, however, he just wants an ice cream cone. Honey promises to get him one if he’ll be a good little boy. She calls up Bosko and asks him to come over with a cone. Bosko makes one and rides off with it on his bicycle, nearly dropping the ice cream numerous times over the bumpy road. When he arrives, Wilber snatches the cone from his hand, licks it, then blows it at Bosko, shouting “I don’t like vanilly!”. Bosko chases him upstairs, where Wilber begins swinging on a pendulum and kicks Bosko in the face. When Wilber runs downstairs, Bosko begins to slide down the banister, but Wilber removes the handrail, letting Bosko’s crotch hit the posts as he slides down onto a cart. Bosko rides the cart out of a window and into a pair of long underwear. Wilber opens the underwear’s rear hatch, dropping Bosko into a tub of wash, where he pops out with underwear on his head..

Notes:

  • The tune Bosko plays on the accordion dog is “Where, Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone”. [LT&MM]
