Credits: Supervision by – Hugh Harman Summary: Bosko and Bruno find an orphaned baby; hijinks ensue. Description: It’s a snowy day as Bosko and Bruno ice skate on a frozen pond. Bosko performs a few stunts, while Bruno tries to avoid falling into patches of ice water. Unfortunately Bruno does fall into the water, and Bosko skates over and frantically starts shouting “What’ll I do?! What’ll I do?!”. He peers into the water and begins to sob. “Gee whiz, he’s gone! He’s gone!” he shouts, but Bruno’s head suddenly pops out of a nearby log. Bosko angrily throws a stick at Bruno, but the dog obediently runs to fetch it. Upon reaching the stick Bruno hears crying coming from a nearby basket. Bruno tries to get Bosko to investigate, but he hesitates to open the basket. When he does open it a baby pops out and begins to cry loudly. Bruno tries to tickle the baby’s chin, but the baby honks Bruno’s nose, which Bosko finds hilarious. “Here Bruno, let’s take him home” Bosko says, as he places the basket in Bruno’s mouth. The baby continues to cry as they skate home, despite Bosko’s attempt to calm the baby by humming “Rock-a-bye Baby”. Now at Bosko’s house, the baby lays in a cradle as Bruno rocks him, while Bosko tries to get the baby to sleep by playing the violin. This doesn’t work, of course, and the baby continues to bawl. Bruno grows impatient and goes to sit down, but unfortunately he sits on a hot stove. His bottom now on fire, Bruno drags his rear on the floor then drinks a bucket of water, finally putting the fire out. The baby has stopped crying and is now laughing at the poor dog’s ordeal. A second later the baby is crying again, prompting Bosko to ask “What’s the matter? What’s the matter?”. “I’m crying for the carolines!” the baby sings. Frustrated, Bruno storms off into the bathroom, slamming the door and causing a cuckoo clock to fall on his head and taunt him. Bosko finally calms the baby by playing the piano (pausing momentarily to make some shadow puppets). Bruno puts on a lamp shade like a skirt and starts dancing, and soon the baby is dancing too! Bosko slides across the room on his rug in order to get his duck dinner to quack to the music. Bosko dances right into a goldfish bowl which falls on his head, and Bruno and the baby laugh at him as the cartoon ends. Memorable Scenes: Video Availability: VHS: Uncensored Bosko, Vol. 3
