Credits: Supervision by – Rudolf Ising Summary: Goopy and friends square dance; dispatch villain. Description: Goopy and his gal meet in the forest, while overhead a bird squeezes music out of her children. The happy couple sing the title tune for a few minutes before hopping onto to cart, which begins to speed out-of-control downhill. The runaway cart smashes through a log cabin, though the logs fall back into a neat pile. The cart crashes into a tree, sending its components and its occupants flying. It falls back to earth assembled as a wheelbarrow, with Goopy pushing along his gal who rides inside. They ride over a river with a wooden plank as a bridge, though the plank bends so much that they go through the river anyway. Meanwhile, the townsfolk are all gathered at a square dance. Various anthropomorphic animals dance and play instruments, including a goat whose shoe keeps the beat even when he’s not wearing it, and two donkeys whose tails combine to provide a jump rope for a small cat. Goopy and his gal arrive outside, and, after Goopy corrects his curious stair-induced shortness, they enter. Not only do Goopy and his gal start dancing, but a coal-burning stove does as well! Also, a dachshund drinks liquor so potent it burns away part of his torso (leaving him much shorter than his dancing partner), and a horse uses his banjo to catch his own spit. Goopy and the stove start dancing together, but soon the villain enters. “Stand back, villain!” yells Goopy, but the villain starts firing his shotgun at the would-be hero. Goopy gets his feet caught in two spittoons, but kicks one of them off which hits the villain in the face. Goopy and the villain begin to wrestle, and the villain manages to get a choke hold on Goopy, but the stove saves the day by burning the villain in his rear. Goopy then turns the stove’s crank, shooting hot coals at the villain. The flaming villain runs off into the distance, as Goopy and the stove shake hands.
